Well, I like "overwhelming firepower" and the git-r-done kind of weapon. Why? It's just a personal thing. I do not believe that one needs big and heavy kicking magnums for deer hunting. I just like to use them myself. So here's my favorite, the Remington 7mm Ultra Magnum, stoked with 140-160 grain Nosler Accubonds or Partitions. Again, this is not necessary, but only in my mind. In fact, I will probably start my kids out on a 7mm.08. Then, when they, and me, get older, the 7 ...

We can share what we are experiencing out in the woods. Such as are the bucks starting to chase does. If we can make those observations and posts we can determine about what time the rut will come into full swing.

Here is an oldy, it was given to me by my wifes father. It was her grandfathers gun when he was a kid. They were made in Michigan, this one somewhere around 1908, and were given out in sacks of grain and such as an incentive to buy. Intersting thing about this one is that the barrel is brass wrapped in steel. It still shoots, I use CB shorts.
