Well, I like "overwhelming firepower" and the git-r-done kind of weapon. Why? It's just a personal thing. I do not believe that one needs big and heavy kicking magnums for deer hunting. Here is an oldy, it was given to me by my wifes father. It was her grandfathers gun when he was a kid. They were made in Michigan, this one somewhere around 1908, and were given out in sacks of grain and such as an incentive to buy. Intersting thing about this one is that the barrel is brass wrapped in steel. It still shoots, I use CB shorts.

Just thought I'd share a couple of pictures of my brother-in-laws opening day muzzleloader success. It's the largest deer we've taken off our lease. He weighed in at 177lbs, field dressed.
