We can share what we are experiencing out in the woods. Such as are the bucks starting to chase does. If we can make those observations and posts we can determine about what time the rut will come into full swing.

Sen. John McCain

Gun control: McCain opposes gun control, which he calls “a proven failure in fighting crime.”

He has voted against bans on assault rifles and opposes waiting periods for citizens to buy firearms. He has voted to protect gun manufacturers from lawsuits holding them liable for gun violence.

He supports instant criminal background checks on people seeking to buy guns. He also has supported legislation requiring gun makers to include trigger locks with their products.

On this unseasonably warm fall morning, Morse and several members of Jim's Hunt Club were about to take part in a Southern tradition that has been passed on to them by generations ...

Virginia deer hunters - and the food banks that receive much of the meat they donate - saw record amounts of venison last year, officials say. And, they add, local food banks may set records again this year.

Statewide, Hunters for the Hungry, a wild game donation program, processed and distributed more than 363,000 pounds of deer meat to families and ...

DNR Conservation Capt. Mike Pizzino says the two 32-year-old men face multiple charges stemming from the animal's slaying.

Several notable results of the 2007-2008 hunting season stand out. Deer harvests reached a record high this past season but even more importantly the doe harvest was greater than the buck kill for the first time since the check station system was initiated in 1947.
