Sorry for taking so long to get back on here i have been very busy and you know what it's like,ILL DO IT TOMMOROW AND THEN you all know the score,WWell we did try to get a deer but at least we seen one there in the snow and we waited and hoped that it would come our way but never did i guess i will just have to wait till i get to the BIG APPLE and do it with style with you guy's but hey i really loved being out with a crossbow in the snow it was amazing there so beautiful so peaceful so everything me and the boy's my two son's Elliott and Jordan loved it and the silver mantis looked wicked in the snow forest and it was the perfect colour and we took some nice picture's of it in the snow and i will send them to Donny sometime this week if i can.Plus all the graphic's are all done too for the NEW MANTIS and it look's beautiful i so wish i had one all finished to send here,anyway i will report back with all news,Phil.

Nothing better then being in the woods!!! Pulling the trigger is second to just being there, I Love it!!! I have been doing some ice fishing and got a few trout.Going after Walleyes in a couple days. CHECK THIS OUT,been doing some more development testing with the shot/scattergun round's and i have been blown away with the end result's.What i have been trying out is a new devastating fragment round for shooting moving target's at out to around 10' 20' 30 yrd's and instead of using ball bearing's shot etc i have been using thin length's of music wire around 5-6 inches long and around 2mm diameter i can get six pieces into each carbon casing and using a wad in the open end and the string end being blanked with an alloy nock well we shot a tree at 10 yrd's and it sliced it right up and one piece went in so far it was sticking out through the side in a hard wood tree too real crazy stuff if you shot a wood pigeon in flight man it would come down in piece's awesome power we got there man that really is doing some speed as that piece of wire is 40 grns max so inertia on each piece is fairly minimal but with enough to drive it in that far and the drag on that long length through hard wood too i need to do more testing with steel BBs as well,you get a helicopter effect with the wire and you should hear them swish through the air at such high speed's utter madness,he he,loving it lot's you should see the damage it doe's to sheet plastic it anihilate's it piece's of plastic everywhere with the pieces that have hit it sideway's have gone clean through and the ones that have hit it end on have punched nice holes right out and have stick into the woodwen backdrop deep very similar to a real shotgun not far off it would kill a human outright with a headshot no sweat with enough force to send end hitter's clean through a skull and side on hitters probably cracking and fracturing a skull after slicing the flesh clean down to the bone and at more than 30 yrd's too i reckon.Wicked for turkey shooting/rabbit's/rat's and largish bird's in flight or sat in tree's,amazing even though i say so myself.How it work's is like this,the bullet rail run's at a slight taper from the trigger housing to the front of the bow and at the exit point the rail is bearing down on the bullet round like a choke on a shotgun so enabling spot on accuracy and consistency with each shot as the bullet is in total contact with both rail and deck and what i do is bond around two layer's of elecrical tape at the tail of the shotgun type round and what this doe's is as the tail end come's into contact at the exit end it causes enough drag at the very end of the powerstroke so as to release the shot or wire helicopter projectile's at very high speed's.When shooting steel tipped bullet's this tape is not needed as we are after high velocitie's be back soon with more exciting crazy stuff and update's,Phil of Talismancrossbow's innovation beyond imagination.

IT'S FULL STEAM AHEAD as of now we got thing's gathering pace as the pattern technician's have got the job done that was holding thing's up for us and they were very stressed as it was a very big urgent job for AIRBUS AEROSPACE INDUSTRIE'S UK.So now folk's it's GO GO GO to get this awesome weapon that operate's like a shotgun,crossbow and rifle not to mention fishing as well UP AND OUT THERE AND INTO PEOPLE'S HAND'S.And yesterday seen me going over the drawing's of the main component's in ultra fine detail with the technician's covering every aspect of the fore stock of which houses all the running gear,bearing's,gas spring,spring tensioning screw and other fixing's plus the engineering of the rail/deck of which will allow all type's of arrow's/bolt's that are being used by hunter's/target shooter's for the traditional 3 fletch arrow/bolt's and discussing the very best engineering/casting proceedure's in order to end up with absolute near perfection for example the track will be machined to exacting tolerance's as will other essential critical component's and i will be over seeing manufacturing ,casting and engineering of every single component at every stage in the process to ensure that each and every part on this ultra high tech crossbow is nothing short of the very best that it can possibly be and i would think that i am right in saying that this crossbow is the most advanced in technology to date as everyone else out are still manufacturing crossbow's with the very same flexing limb's that were done back when the were invented just with different material's that's the only real difference and of course it is still 100 percent crossbow as the limb's are really the main part as in all crossbow's in other word's it would not function without limb's well maybe it would but you will never reach decent speed's,maybe 100fps max if you are lucky without limb's.All i am doing is making it much better by not only design but also by function as NICE ONE,DONNY.Now thing's are at last picking up speed as it has been a long time getting here but what a lot of people fail to realise is this.I have used all this time very creatively and to improve thing's to a level that i would not have been able to if we had it being made say for example six month's ago in other word's it's a fair shout to say that all this waiting and waiting has been very beneficial to THE MANTIS CROSSBOW as now we really have brought together THE ABSOLUTE COMPLETE PACKAGE,WE HAVE NOW GOT THE WHOLE GOD DAM LOT,EVERYTHING THAT A SHOOTER NEED'S OR WANT'S HAS BEEN COMPLETELY TAKEN CARE OF.Right now as all the main part's of this crossbow are being taken care of,i have been working on a beautiful design for the foot claw and also the fastening screw's which lock's the two part bow together.The foot claw design is very similar to the original handmade one but it will be large enough to accomodate large hunting footwear and has a very nice sculptured look and feel to it that will compliment the look's of this outstanding crossbow even more so.Also the HORTON EASY CRANK WINDING DEVICE is one awesome piece of engineering and it would be great if we could strike up a deal with HORTON CROSSBOW'S to supply this winch for the Mantis.This we will try to arrange when i come accross as this would be awesome,nice engineering there,Also i have ordered two set's of new limb's to retest after a complete rework of the pattern's and we have also got a much better foundry now,so should get some much better result's.I am on holiday to TORQUAY in DEVON from this Monday for one week so when i return i can test these out and rework some more if needed as the original casting's were too bulky and heavy and what the ideal limb situation would be is very light but very strong so as you can imagine these are extremely difficult to get just perfect as the weight of these are critical for good high speed's but we cannot sacrifice strength or safety for this so it's a lot of thought and critical design solution's that are required and also the guy that got the last set of limb's made for me was not really that good as he messed me around for month's and then to top it the foundry that made the limb's treated the very expensive tooling pattern's like shit and they came back to me in a bad way i can tell you,there were hammer mark's in them and other damage that i had to rectify then take them back to the pattern maker's to get their view's and they worked on them too in order to bring them back to top condition.Anyway it's all working out fine now but it has not been easy in any way shape or form as you can see,lol,be back real soon before i go on holiday with more new's on the progress,peace,Phil.

LEAP'S AND BOUND'S THAT'S HOW THING'S ARE GOING HERE RIGHT NOW.Yesterday i was back with the pattern technician's to drop in some more drawing's of the crossbow locking screw's and also the foot claw and i have designed the new look foot claw to have a very nice sculptured look with added strength and also to be made large enough to accomodate large hunting/walking footwear especially for winter shooting condition's.Also i have ordered four set's of all the running gear to be hand casted and heat treated ready for machining.Yesterday i also painted the MANTIS PROTOTYPE and installed the GRAPHIC'S and OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!! TO SAY IT LOOK'S MIND BLOWING AND EXTREMELY DANGEROUS IS A FREAKING UNDERSTATEMENT,HOLY SHIT,IF YOU THOUGHT IT LOOKED AWESOME BEFORE THEN YOU ARE IN FOR ONE BIG SURPRISE IT IS PURE UNADULTERATED PORNOGRAPHY THAT WOULD MAKE SATAN JEALOUSE,as it most certainly live's up to the name given to the crossbow in medieval time's [THE WEAPON OF THE DEVIL] PURE ULTRA COOL SEXY ULTRA BADNESS TO THE VERY CORE,IT SIMPLY COMMAND'S RESPECT AND UN BRIDLED DEVOUT ATTENTION.These are the only word's i can think of to get my drift accross if you know what i mean,lol HELLFIRE,PHEW,i am still reeling from it and when i come back from holiday next Monday i will finish it off to absolute perfection and will be sending some INCREDIBLE PICTURE'S that will take you on a wicked journey to CROSSBOW HEAVEN.As the paint job along with some real class graphic's is just got to be seen to be believed .

THE PASSING OF PETER.I would just like to say some word's on here about our beautiful rabbit PETER, HE WAS 10 YEAR'S OLD.After suffering for the last six month's with eye problem's of which were treated at the veterinary surgery with eye drop's and variouse other treatment's it is with great sadness that we had to have him peacefully put to sleep as he was suffering through to catching mixamatosis a man made hideouse disease that was invented by poxy mankind to make everything so called better,just like everything else man doe's.Anyway Peter was alway's at my side both in the garden and in my workshop accompanying me as i made crossbow's and developed THE MANTIS BOW and we all loved that dude with every cell in our body's and he came to the perfect place with a family that gave him happines,love and kindness and nothing else but that,FOREVER IN OUR THOUGHT'S AND IN OUR HEART'S,HE WAS A TRUE FRIEND AND COMPANION,REST IN PEACE PETER WE ARE ALL FILLED WITH GREAT SADNESS AT THIS MOMENT IN TIME.

I hate to hear that Phil. A loss of a pet can be extremely tough! We take these animals in and love them as if they were our child. Time will heal. Take care . Thoughts and prayers for you and your family.

Well i posted onto crossbow nation and guess what,that is correct they closed my thread down.But that was to be expected and i suppose i should have waited until i did get it all totally finalized.On the other foot i have really got this thing all together and got away from the issue's that caused all the fuss before and to be honest i did think that they over reacted a tad.Anyway i am very pleased with how it has all panned out as this crossbow really is what i have alway's dreamed of owning and if there was someone out there already making a bow like this then i would want one myself but there is not so i had to do all this to get one out there like this.And after giving it some thought i will hook up with URBAN LEDGEND as originally intended as CROSSBOW NATION has got some awesome people on there making awesome thing's and i want to share something awesome with all them great people on there, .

Phil, Right after you called a Bad Storm came in and knocked the power out. Its 11:00 pm and it just came back on. I checked my mail and didnt get the pic's and I see nothing on messenger? We need to get You and the pic's of all your bow's and maybe some comments or story to go with each one and maybe a nice pic and story layout of the beginning to present of the Mantis on FACEBOOK! I would like to see us fix that page up real nice and then open it up for everyone when we are happy. IMO, Its the Best way to get it out there for everyone to see!

That is insane Greg and check this out,we lost all the really incredible picture's i took and they really were something to die for so i went back to the same location to try and get some more of these striking image's and my son and daughter came with me and we took a fishing rod and Jordan caught a very rare Crucian carp in the tiny river there and in all the year's i have fished that river i never ever caught one of them,but it is heaving with trout.Anyway i got some INCREDIBLE PICTURE'S to send to you and i will call you to arrange transfer to you.Good to hear you are all ok after the storm,i will call you this evening and send you these new picture's.

Phil, Right after I wrote the above message the power went out again and just came back on at around 4:00pm today. Bad Storm!!! While I was looking around in the dark closet earlier looking for flashlight's encase we had to go another night in the dark I was feeling around in a box and ended up running a fish hook in my finger and had to go to the hospital to get the Damn thing out. Anyways, Power's on, Phone's working so give me a call , Sorry for the troubles!

Sound's like a nightmare,anyway getting a fishhook i your finger is not a good thing as they are painful i know i did this a while back but i was luck the barb did not go in too deep.Hope you are all ok and glad to hear the storm has passed.I called my friend's in Kentucky yesterday and they said that they had bad stormy weather there too and it had been very hot before.Well i have got some incredible picture's for you showing the Mantis all broken down and a range of different ammunition it shoot's.Yesterday we were doing some video trial's with the bow and we shot a bullet clean through five aerosol can's and it stuck into the backdrop pretty good too and this was on low power.We are going to upload a range of high quality video action shot's showing what it doe's to house brick's and steel and aluminium and also the scatter round's on water melon's and other target's as well including some explosion's with petrol and gas too and rickochetting off rock's with hail's of spark's and all sort's i have been conjuring up all different idea's for some awesome video's.Anyway i will call you right now as i have some incredible image's for on here and facebook.

I know the last video's i did were not that clever but since then the improvement's to the Mantis has been imense and plus we have invested in a real high quality camera for some incredible crossbow video action.And the location's we got for this stuff is awesome,we will upload each and every video as we do them and i want to go out one evening this week and nail video number one and this video will be a variouse range bullet shooting mission and i have some idea's that i need to rework for this but this will be a good start.Now we are really in a position to really show what this thing is capable of.

Well,Donny and Gplant them picture's are a very accurate sample of exactly what the finnished crossbow's will be like.The limb's will be a little different as the middle will have three aerodynamic blade like spacer's without being linked together as on the prototype apart from this they will look identicle and i think they will look even better just you wait and see as i have seen it with them fitted and it look's ultra mean.I got some more to send tomorrow to you and Greg and i am now planning out some evil video's of this weapon in action on all type's of target's and there will be some explosive action in them vid's for those that like extreme type stuff and i have been gathering all manner of idea's for these new video's, Round's that will explode on impact and also incendiary tracer round's and video's showing what arrow's and bullet's can do to flesh and bone using pig's head's to demonstrate with broadhed's and wadcutting bullet's all this will be getting video coverage and i cannot wait my trigger finger is restless,lol.We will also be shooting game bird's down in flight with this thing on video and also rat blasting with ball bearing's.Right now i am preparing the awesome ammo for the first video's and just making all the prep's and groundwork for a great production that will rock.Suggestion's for video's are very welcome any idea's folk's.

We got a lovely deer yesterday.My son shot this doe at sixty yrd's with his Demon recurve crossbow and hit it at the base of the skull and the ABC broadhead of 100grn's exited out through it's lower jawbone that was a SICK SHOT and it went down instantly.We got some pic's of it to upload onto here and on facebook.And Yes all the MANTIS PATTERN'S the main part's are all nearly completed so now it's just small easy part's like scope rail and winch and rope cocker part's so WE ARE MORE OR LESS THERE,soon be over with you guy's,not long now.

More new's is I have been contacted by a top FILM producer who want's to feature Talisman crossbow's in a film.I will keep you updated when i get to hear more so we are on our way.When i say film i mean to feature the crossbow's in a film that is being made around October.Do not worry coming over to you guy's is the number one priority as is the Mantis as film's are cool but we are doing the real stuff going hunting with the Mantis.

Just returned from the shooting testing ground site and i am very impressed with the performance with this incredible new set up.setting the bow to high power TEST NO1 SHOOTING OUT TO 100 YRD'S with a 340 grn 22" arrow and arrow drop at this range was incredibly good as was accuracy as we hit a 4" dia target with ease setting the crosshair dead on centre we shot this 30 times.Then proceeded to shoot out to 150 yrd's again with the same target and arrow aiming the crosshair to the top of the target allowed for a central hit so all good there we were in the mood for much more testing and shooting and managed another 20 successful shot's shot's but the weather turned very wet and windy so we called it a day and tomorrow i will pick up two set's of limb's to fit up and trial alongside the awesome compound set up and see what the difference is between the two and i think that it will be great to offer this bow with optional limb set up's and even more option's so hunter's can have everything they want or need in their dream bow i will get some picture's onto here in the week to demonstrate the awesome new set up and look.

COMPOUND ULTRA HIGH SPEED AND POWER SET UP PLUS NEW LIMB CASTING'S,yes i got some pic's done for your eye's only as in that awesome JAMES BOND FILM FOR YOUR EYE'S ONLY,LOL.HOLY MOTHER OF GOD I DRY FIRED THE NEW COMPOUND SET UP AND IT SOUNDED LIKE THE STRING WENT THROUGH THE SOUND BARRIER WITH A VERY LOUD SHARP CRACK AND I DID THIS TWICE AND NO DAMAGE.I think people are going to freak out when they see this new set up as it blow's me right away to ecstacy crossbow land,lol.I took it to the pattern tech guy's and they said that is the scariest thing they had ever seen,lol no kidding when i cranked the tiny but extremely powerful and ultra fast compound bow right back to the full 19.4" draw and you will see the picture's no great big ugly cam's are needed on this thing just tiny beautiful discreet pulley's that really add to the look's and high power and speed and you can shoot a 1,000 grain arrow with this thing and still shoot it fast i know i shot a 1,300 grn solid music wire bolt clean through a toughened 8mm alloy plate holy hell fire he he the damage was insane.
