Thing's are all good right here with the Mantis and other crossbows that i am crafting by hand and hopefully this week should see the latest set of test limb's.Every thing has been going far far slower than i had planned as there was so much time and energy wasted on people that just let me down with pattern's,casting's and so forth and i also ended up having to correct the very expensive pattern's for the limb's after paying all that money.They would have corrected them for me no problem but i would have had to wait around and i was not that busy so i did the work myself and made absolutely certain that everything was how i wanted it.Anyway i reckon it is to our advantage having taken so so long as i have been continuously improving/refining everything on the mantis bow and it will be just perfect and never break down so it's all good new's and the more time spent on perfection the better the end result and i cannot wait to hook up with you all over there when she's all done,boy we will be having some awesome fun for sure as i will be bringing some extra kit with this crossbow that will make it really really rock big bad times are not to far away now and i will surprise you all with the trick's i got all lined up for you crossbow loving guy's over there,be back on here when i get them freakin new limb's at long last,lol,Phil,dedicated to making absolutely awesome crossbows.

Well i am still awaiting the arrival of these new limb's,talk about very long wind'd.Why oh why doe's everything here have to take so long as i was hoping to have all this sorted and ready for production month's ago,anyway not to worry as we will be there sooner rather than later i hope and i am also thinking about setting up a crossbow archery shooting club here to promote the joy's of crossbow shooting as crossbow shooting club's are very few and far between.The ideal location for this will be on farmland with woodland for field target shooting and an open field for long distance target shooting and i also want to set up an indoor range if possible with refreshment's and a crossbow and accessory shop selling all different make's of crossbows and accessorie's and of course Talisman crossbows and accessorie's too.This will be great for people to get out and come along and shoot crossbows and meet other's who share the same interest's and would like to take up this fantastic hobby or just fancy givving it a go to see what shooting crossbows are like and i would also like to teach people how to care for their bows and practice complete safety at all times,safety must alway's be the first issue and good sound intuition will be practiced at all time's so i will soon be looking around to see what is available to rent in order to start the Talisman Crossbow club,farm out building's would be ideal for all this.Also nearing final completion of a very nice hunting/target crossbow and i will put it onto the website when i update the site with the Mantis and other bows too,keep you all updated as soon as i get some new's,Phil.

YES I PICKED UP FOUR SET'S OF THE NEW CAST LIMB'S TODAY AND NOW I WILL FIT THEM ONTO THE MANTIS EMPLOYING NEEDLE ROLLER BEARING'S.The crossbow that i am currently making is now more or less finished and it's a very nice bow and i am testing it out right now the 100lb draw target/club shooting prod is very efficient and i will test the ultra high powered prod over this weekend and speed test and see what kinetic energy she is pushing out with heavy bolt's around 600 grns i expect it to be easily around 200 ft lbs with a draw weight of 400 lbs.Meanwhile hope all is well here and i will be reporting back with mantis bolt speed's and kinetic energy result's.

Are we still going to beable to set the poundage on the Mantis? I would go with 250 lbs at the most. Should beable to get around 350 fps with a good hunting bolt and a 100 gr tip wouldn't you think? A bow that truly does 350

WE ARE GOOD TO GO GO GO,FOLK'S YES THE NEW LIMB'S ARE AWESOME as i have been testing them out and tweaking thing's here and there and it's WICKED STUFF i can tell you all.I called Donny around two week's ago and said to relay the message to G Plant and now after all this time it's all just right so now the rest is being all made to the exacting standard's that have been attained after pain staking testing tweaking and other very demanding work,Phew thank God for this all to be getting there at long long last as i have just had to be patient and take my time to get everything just dead right and so so much thought and dedication has gone into this i can say as not one day has gone by without me continuously thinking on how to make it even better and now finally we are ready to pick the fruit's at the very top of that very tall tree and go enjoy them to the very max.Yes there has been a few mishap's during testing as one of the bullet's misfired and did a lot of damage to the crossbow and this was my own fault as i reused a carbon shafted round that had been shot at high power through thick 2" marine plywood several times and the shaft's were extra thin and this will never happen with the production bullet's as they will be made from solid nylon material with micro flutes that will make them spin for high accuracy,man i could have kicked myself for being so stupid after all that extra work i had to do to put it all right again,but hey these thing's do happen when testing i have also been developing an incendary tracer round for this bow too so you can send signal's if you get lost in the wilderness or indeed have some very cool fun shooting them at night.The round will automatically ignite on releasing the string but i have more development work to do on this one to make it extra safe and reliable.Anyway i will be with you guy's in the new year and you will be shooting your mantis bows and hunting with them,no worrie's,speak to you very soon,Phil.

Hi Greg how are you doing,been trying to call you for a while now and yes the poundage is fully adjustable up to around 250lb's,sorry i got a little carried away on the last post,all that excitement can cloud your vision if you know what i mean,Anyway i will test the full draw with scale's and also chrono this thing too very soon as it is being repaired after it went a little wrong,lol .Also i took some picture's and have been trying to get them onto here of that other crossbow i made and we have not been able to access them on this computer for some dumb reason and they did not come out that sharp either,rathe pissed about this as it was painstaking endless work to make and then i took my time setting it all up to take some nice shot's and they came out rather not too good but i will see if i can get them to Boss Man as soon as i can find them wretched thing's,meanwhile i will give you a call,Phil.

ULTRA LIGHT WEIGHT AROUND 7.5 LBS-8 LBS is what i got planned as the main body including the shoulder stock,trigger mechanism housing can be cast in MAGNESIUM of which is two third's lighter than aluminium and also very strong.The limb's cast from toughened heat treated alloy as will be all the highly stressed running gear such as connecting rod's and main compression rod.That new laminated prod drew at 350 lb's and with an 11" powerstroke shot a 600 grn bolt fitted with a target tip almost clean through a piece of 5 mm aluminium plate and did exactly the same as the Mantis bow.It was impossible to tell the difference as both holes were identical. This prod was light in weight and was made by sandwiching an alloy made prod between two high tensile steel skin's cut to the same shape as the alloy prod then all riveted together with large aluminium rivet's,FREAKING AWESOME POWER THERE would go clean through 3 people with ease.And this new prod is not that expensive to make and is much better than carbon and glass fibre by a long shot as carbon fibre is way overrated as far as i have found due to lot's of trial's at the end of the day it is just another plastic and will never ever be even as strong as even aluminium let alone steel i have found carbon fibre to be absolute rubbish for very ultra high powered prod's for killer crossbows as it simply cannot handle extreme stress level's like aluminium and high tensile steel can and also it's a lot less messy and no horrid carbon or glass and resin dust floating around the workshop,man that stuff makes you itch just like you would not believe it is absolutely horrid stuff to work with and i worked with it over twenty year's ago and hated it enough then,poxy expensive messy dangerouse you name it that junk is way overrated to me so i will stick with toughened alloy and high tensile steel for ultra high powered crossbows that need to flex to be called a crossbow to some out there.Just because the limb's do not store the energy should not make much difference as the stored energy is transfered to the limb's so the operation is identical and the bow crosses the stock with a string so if you really think about it it really is a crossbow and to be honest i find flexing limb's have been way overdone and we really do need to find newer but exciting and interesting way's.It seem's that there are so many out there afraid to try different way's of making crossbow's just that little bit better.The contraption's that some of them are coming out with now are looking more like alien being's than crossbow's and i find them very un sexy and if i could not come up with design's any better then i am afraid i would have to kick it in the head.I find it mind boggling when some say they look cool,i am thinking in what way on this planet can anything looking that damm ugly ever look cool,maybe as cool as a citroen c3 or renault stick my ass in your face car thingy.

After doing more testing following some modification's to the test limb's in order to get the weight of each limb to 8 ounces in order to achieve the very highest speed's that hunter's require it was found that two set's of reworked limb's failed.One of the limb's broke right near the very tip when i shot it so i altered another set and left the tips well alone and i lost around 4 ounces off of each limb by carefully chamfering the entire limb's and one of them cracked not at the tip's but around two inch'es shorter on a thicker part of the limb.Now having given it some very considerable thought in to why we had these failure's i am almost 100 percent certain that the limb's are too brittle.In other word's they may have been heat treated too much as this is an aerospace grade alloy material and is strong enough,with such high power level's and extreme forces at work such as when they reach the very end of their high speed travel the material need's to be more maleable in order to flex and the trouble is they are too brittle to flex and therefore cannot cope that well with what is expected of them.I did give instruction's to the guy getting them made for me to make three complete set's with variouse rate's of heat treatment so that i could experiment and find out what one give's the very best result's but hey that's right it fell on deaf ear's as per usual so now i got to get some more done.Dont worry i am getting her all sorted it just take's time and i am on my own with all this so please bear with me and i WILL get it all there hopefully sooner rather than later but the NEW YEAR WILL BE THE TALISMAN CROSSBOW'S YEAR where the MANTIS CROSSBOW will be seen in action by many and also shot by those that want to see what it shoot's like and we are going to be very buzzy in this coming year as we will be bringing it on.Everything else is being done now so all i need to do now is get them limb's dead right and we are all done and i know what need's to be done to get the result's we want so it's all down hill now.I thought about getting them cast in TITANIUM but apparently the cost is way too high and titanium is heavier than alumminium so it's not that hot.So i will see what we can do with the correct tempering of the limb's and if not i will get a higher grade alloy that will do the job but i do not want this bow being way too expensive as it will have to be in the high end crossbow bracket but with reliability and ultra high tech being second to none that's what we need.Been trying to chrono the MANTIS and the poxy thing is all over the place with a 300 grn bolt we had 450 fps and then 350 fps and then 400 fps and all with the same bolt so i need to get it calibrated in order to get some true reading's for example one day my air rifle was doing 950 fps and the day after it was doing 400 fps so i am a little be wildered by what's the true reading here,bloody technology again how i hate some thing's out there as they are so useless i dont ever want a mobile phone ever i really hate them thing's with a passion and they are such a BIG RIP OFF some people must spend all their freaking money on phone bill's we i never will as they say talk is cheap i say let's keep it that way.I have ordered some new casting's of the limb's to retest and finger's crossed we will get it right this time,Phil.

That thing is very fast and it's the pesky chrono that's not right as during testing it sent the same arrow nearly clean through a quarter inch alumminium plate and every hole was absolutely identical the same whan shot at wood as the penetration of the arrow is exactly the same so it is the chronograph,i have tried all new batterie's and i think it may be a faulty one so i will be going to quick's at honiton to see what their chrono read's, be nice if their's say a consistent 500 fps when set onto full power.

Well the drawing's are at the foundry awaiting their view's on the overall design and i have also overcome the minor problem's with the cast limb's.Been a real head ache here as i have been feeding the cow's to help out the farmer as he is 85 year's of age and has been very unwell and also my son's car has been a thorn in my side from day one and that was two year's ago,lol,sorry for ranting on here about muslim's and all that negative shit as it is silly of me and i should not let crap like that get to me but some time's it is very hard as thing's here are way beyond rediculous and getting worse by the second,man o man when are we going to get a real gov for the people here is all i can say as they are all lowlife scum running thing's here right now but that's life i suppose and in any case we are better than them and we got soul and we love crossbow's right and plus our familie's and wive's love us for who and what we are and not for just being filthy rich and privelidged so we are the lucky one's really,not them shallow politician's that put money before everything and i for one am so so glad that money dont make me run around after it like a head less chicken,lol aint they sad them people lol they need a good dam hobby.Well i have been slogging away at it and i have been making some awesome very high powered prod's for hunter's too and i just put one in the post on it's way to a top wild boar hunter and it is one bad ass prod that draws at 450 lb's and is crazy powerful,it shot an 800 grn bolt straight through a scrap car when we tested her out.Clean throgh both door's and stuck into the garage wall behind it WOW we could not believe the power it delivered it shot that 800 grn bolt at 380 fps which i think equates to around 200 ft lb's of K.E freaking deadly.Well i will have to call Donny for a chat and just like to say it's all coming along slowly but surely and i will be there in the coming year,yes AMERICA here we come me and my eldest son Elliott is coming too and he cannot wait either so i must get thing's on the high speed track as i will never ever break my word and when we do get there boy we are gonna PARTY BIG TIME,can't wait and also like to say MERRY CHRISTMAS to everyone that has a good heart and to hell with all the user's and abuser's out there,lol,take good care and keep on trucking as it will all work out just fine,love,Phil, the man at talisman.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL OUT THERE,Well i really enjoyed the Christmas break and i hope you all did too,been a hell of a lot of bad tragic thing's a happening last year and i just hope that good thing's are on the horizon for all good people as thing's really are getting tough out there for a lot of good people due to very high taxes and escalating heating/food/petrol/gas diesel fuel etc etc etc and good job's are like rocking horse shit,lol if you get my drift.Anyway i called in to see the engineer's today just to see how thing's are coming along and it's all coming along very well indeed just a little slow as they are in demand due to their very high quality workmanship and attention to the very finest detail's.Also i am doing some modification's to the original limb pattern's as i had them made with hollow tip's for the highest power output but i found that this made them a little weak so i am making the limb tip's solid but i can loose a little weight by re profiling the tip's and also the entire limb's to gain very high power output at long range.The ideal profile of the limb's will be like aircraft wing's to make them very aero dynamic but without sacrificing any strength.Then i will get them made to fit onto the crossbows that i will be bringing over there with me for you guy's to see what you think.Also i have got some very nice graphic's together all ready for your pro staff shooter bows and i also want to bring Elliott and Jordan my two son's accross with their Mantis crossbows too so we will be crammed with crossbow goodie's and i will also get some wicked banner's printed up and other promotional material as well so we can set up some shooting/hunting if it is possible.We could get some awesome T shirt's and maybe hat's with the image of the Mantis on them,please feel free to post idea's i cant wait.I will be back on here in the next day or two.In fact it may well be much more cost effective to even get all of the printing done over with you guy's as everything is one great big rip off over here especially now we have to pay 20 per cent VAT,i hate tax as it's all a waste of good peoples money as they just waste it on utter crap that we never want anyway,it's like we are all paying through the nose for all the shit we so hate here,its only done to keep us all down while they try and fill our head's with their bullshit lol,no friggin joke,Phil.

I've been invited to go to Texas and stay with a friend for a Hog hunt and would like to get that on film as well and also all the testing I would like to record to show everyone that the Mantis is a Killing Machine and what we have done to prove what a Great product it is to show at shows.
