Don't worry the finished hunting version will have a track and groove enabling conventional three fletch bolt's/arrows.It has all been worked out to enable this.Imagine it in cammo and with a nice quiver and sling and plastic cammo or custom wood grip's on forestock and pistol grip plus wrap around cheek pad or wooden or plastic cheek piece.We will bring it all together just right for all.This bow also break's down and fold's away too.And goe's back together without any re zeroing of your scope.To change a string all you will need is a socket wrench.And the same to adjust to the power level you need.I cant wait to see it anodized in black with cammo or custom wood grip's.

Thing's are all good right here with the Mantis and other crossbows that i am crafting by hand and hopefully this week should see the latest set of test limb's.Every thing has been going far far slower than i had planned as there was so much time and energy wasted on people that just let me down with pattern's,casting's and so forth and i also ended up having to correct the very expensive pattern's for the limb's after paying all that money.They would have corrected them for me no problem but i would have had to wait around and i was not that busy so i did the work myself and made absolutely certain that everything was how i wanted it.Anyway i reckon it is to our advantage having taken so so long as i have been continuously improving/refining everything on the mantis bow and it will be just perfect and never break down so it's all good new's and the more time spent on perfection the better the end result and i cannot wait to hook up with you all over there when she's all done,boy we will be having some awesome fun for sure as i will be bringing some extra kit with this crossbow that will make it really really rock big bad times are not to far away now and i will surprise you all with the trick's i got all lined up for you crossbow loving guy's over there,be back on here when i get them freakin new limb's at long last,lol,Phil,dedicated to making absolutely awesome crossbows.

Well i am still awaiting the arrival of these new limb's,talk about very long wind'd.Why oh why doe's everything here have to take so long as i was hoping to have all this sorted and ready for production month's ago,anyway not to worry as we will be there sooner rather than later i hope and i am also thinking about setting up a crossbow archery shooting club here to promote the joy's of crossbow shooting as crossbow shooting club's are very few and far between.The ideal location for this will be on farmland with woodland for field target shooting and an open field for long distance target shooting and i also want to set up an indoor range if possible with refreshment's and a crossbow and accessory shop selling all different make's of crossbows and accessorie's and of course Talisman crossbows and accessorie's too.This will be great for people to get out and come along and shoot crossbows and meet other's who share the same interest's and would like to take up this fantastic hobby or just fancy givving it a go to see what shooting crossbows are like and i would also like to teach people how to care for their bows and practice complete safety at all times,safety must alway's be the first issue and good sound intuition will be practiced at all time's so i will soon be looking around to see what is available to rent in order to start the Talisman Crossbow club,farm out building's would be ideal for all this.Also nearing final completion of a very nice hunting/target crossbow and i will put it onto the website when i update the site with the Mantis and other bows too,keep you all updated as soon as i get some new's,Phil.

GREAT NEWS TO REPORT.The limb's will be here next week,meanwhile the drawing's are with the pattern maker's to get all the rest of the crossbow all done,won't be too long now,phew.I will send pictures to BOSS MAN of this awesome crossbow i am at the moment still finishing off.It's a 400lb draw recurve that is simply awesome and should easily hit 400 fps.The Talisman Ledgend is what i have named this crossbow and it is a custom job for hunting wild boar and has to have enough power to shatter the rib's with ease that are tougher and bigger than a cow's rib's and this baby will be putting out around 200 +ft lbs of K.E.The bow is a one piece prod and is made from aerospace alloy and carbon and glass fibre all bonded up with the very best earospace epoxy resin and now i can make your existing crossbow limb's much more powerful and resist delaminating as well and can also make super high performance crossbow limb's to take your existing crossbow to a much higher level and depending on how much power you need the existing trigger mech can also be uprated to cope with all the extra load and i am also starting THE TALISMAN CROSSBOW SHOOTING CLUB where anyone can come along and bring their own crossbows or hire one to shoot catering for crossbow archery only to begin with then we will see how it all goe's and maybe include other form's of shooting too we will see and i want to have an indoor range with a shop selling all makes of crossbows and an outdoor field target and traditional crossbow target shooting and offer refreshment's to member's and guest's,can't wait it's all starting to fall into place slowly but surely and one day not too far away we will be out there BIG TIME with not only the MANTIS but other bad ass crossbows too with so much power on board it will be totally awesome i am talking up to 1,000 lb's plus draw weight's here freaking wild stuff this is going to be .Oh the power and the ultra high speed's we will be hitting,lol WITH THESE KILLER BOWS get your old T.V s out folk's and anihilate em he he,hey check this out we are going to do one extremely wild video enihilating a toilet,sink made of porcelain and we are going to all dress up like wild cowboy's and power ranger's and anyting else that's off the hook and we are going to blow them thing's to pieces with very powerful crossbows and post it onto YOU TUBE it will be crazy and heap's of fun to do this and we will make it hilariouse to watch around half a dozen of us is up for this and we will rehearse for this to be just perfect and very funny and yes I LOVE FAMILY GUY AND AMERICAN DAD and that alien in it rock's too it's so funny that wild cartoon show we all love it over here it's wicked and i love Jim Carey and Jeffery Daniel's in DUMB AND DUMBER [awesome film] and also BRUCE ALMIGHTY,LIAR LIAR .that guy is awesome.A good laugh is so good for all of us and i have a very wild sense of humour man that RUTGER HAUER in the original HITCHER from the late 80s is one mean guy and so so funny it's the way he say's it.CHRISTOPHRER WALKEN IS SO FREAKING COOL THAT GUY IS JUST REAL BAD ASS TO THE BONE,what a ledgend as is CLINT EASTWOOD,ARNIE,STALLONE they are all top's for me anyway,so love to meet them all.Anyway stay on in there folk's the MANTIS is well on the way now atlong last,PHEW.

YES I PICKED UP FOUR SET'S OF THE NEW CAST LIMB'S TODAY AND NOW I WILL FIT THEM ONTO THE MANTIS EMPLOYING NEEDLE ROLLER BEARING'S.The crossbow that i am currently making is now more or less finished and it's a very nice bow and i am testing it out right now the 100lb draw target/club shooting prod is very efficient and i will test the ultra high powered prod over this weekend and speed test and see what kinetic energy she is pushing out with heavy bolt's around 600 grns i expect it to be easily around 200 ft lbs with a draw weight of 400 lbs.Meanwhile hope all is well here and i will be reporting back with mantis bolt speed's and kinetic energy result's.

Are we still going to beable to set the poundage on the Mantis? I would go with 250 lbs at the most. Should beable to get around 350 fps with a good hunting bolt and a 100 gr tip wouldn't you think? A bow that truly does 350

WE ARE GOOD TO GO GO GO,FOLK'S YES THE NEW LIMB'S ARE AWESOME as i have been testing them out and tweaking thing's here and there and it's WICKED STUFF i can tell you all.I called Donny around two week's ago and said to relay the message to G Plant and now after all this time it's all just right so now the rest is being all made to the exacting standard's that have been attained after pain staking testing tweaking and other very demanding work,Phew thank God for this all to be getting there at long long last as i have just had to be patient and take my time to get everything just dead right and so so much thought and dedication has gone into this i can say as not one day has gone by without me continuously thinking on how to make it even better and now finally we are ready to pick the fruit's at the very top of that very tall tree and go enjoy them to the very max.Yes there has been a few mishap's during testing as one of the bullet's misfired and did a lot of damage to the crossbow and this was my own fault as i reused a carbon shafted round that had been shot at high power through thick 2" marine plywood several times and the shaft's were extra thin and this will never happen with the production bullet's as they will be made from solid nylon material with micro flutes that will make them spin for high accuracy,man i could have kicked myself for being so stupid after all that extra work i had to do to put it all right again,but hey these thing's do happen when testing i have also been developing an incendary tracer round for this bow too so you can send signal's if you get lost in the wilderness or indeed have some very cool fun shooting them at night.The round will automatically ignite on releasing the string but i have more development work to do on this one to make it extra safe and reliable.Anyway i will be with you guy's in the new year and you will be shooting your mantis bows and hunting with them,no worrie's,speak to you very soon,Phil.

Hi Greg how are you doing,been trying to call you for a while now and yes the poundage is fully adjustable up to around 250lb's,sorry i got a little carried away on the last post,all that excitement can cloud your vision if you know what i mean,Anyway i will test the full draw with scale's and also chrono this thing too very soon as it is being repaired after it went a little wrong,lol .Also i took some picture's and have been trying to get them onto here of that other crossbow i made and we have not been able to access them on this computer for some dumb reason and they did not come out that sharp either,rathe pissed about this as it was painstaking endless work to make and then i took my time setting it all up to take some nice shot's and they came out rather not too good but i will see if i can get them to Boss Man as soon as i can find them wretched thing's,meanwhile i will give you a call,Phil.

ULTRA LIGHT WEIGHT AROUND 7.5 LBS-8 LBS is what i got planned as the main body including the shoulder stock,trigger mechanism housing can be cast in MAGNESIUM of which is two third's lighter than aluminium and also very strong.The limb's cast from toughened heat treated alloy as will be all the highly stressed running gear such as connecting rod's and main compression rod.That new laminated prod drew at 350 lb's and with an 11" powerstroke shot a 600 grn bolt fitted with a target tip almost clean through a piece of 5 mm aluminium plate and did exactly the same as the Mantis bow.It was impossible to tell the difference as both holes were identical. This prod was light in weight and was made by sandwiching an alloy made prod between two high tensile steel skin's cut to the same shape as the alloy prod then all riveted together with large aluminium rivet's,FREAKING AWESOME POWER THERE would go clean through 3 people with ease.And this new prod is not that expensive to make and is much better than carbon and glass fibre by a long shot as carbon fibre is way overrated as far as i have found due to lot's of trial's at the end of the day it is just another plastic and will never ever be even as strong as even aluminium let alone steel i have found carbon fibre to be absolute rubbish for very ultra high powered prod's for killer crossbows as it simply cannot handle extreme stress level's like aluminium and high tensile steel can and also it's a lot less messy and no horrid carbon or glass and resin dust floating around the workshop,man that stuff makes you itch just like you would not believe it is absolutely horrid stuff to work with and i worked with it over twenty year's ago and hated it enough then,poxy expensive messy dangerouse you name it that junk is way overrated to me so i will stick with toughened alloy and high tensile steel for ultra high powered crossbows that need to flex to be called a crossbow to some out there.Just because the limb's do not store the energy should not make much difference as the stored energy is transfered to the limb's so the operation is identical and the bow crosses the stock with a string so if you really think about it it really is a crossbow and to be honest i find flexing limb's have been way overdone and we really do need to find newer but exciting and interesting way's.It seem's that there are so many out there afraid to try different way's of making crossbow's just that little bit better.The contraption's that some of them are coming out with now are looking more like alien being's than crossbow's and i find them very un sexy and if i could not come up with design's any better then i am afraid i would have to kick it in the head.I find it mind boggling when some say they look cool,i am thinking in what way on this planet can anything looking that damm ugly ever look cool,maybe as cool as a citroen c3 or renault stick my ass in your face car thingy.

Latest new's is that the new limb's have been even more refined and also the running gear in order to reduce weight and make it a lot more efficient.Hoping to go hunting tomorrow for deer using 400 grn bolt's all fitted with excal mechanical head's wish me luck and i will take picture's and post them to Donny,also trying to get some picture's sent to me fro my client of the Talisman Ledgend crossbow to send on to Donny.Well thing's are going to plan here at this end and i want to chrono test the revised and re tuned crossbow called the Mantis i will report back here following tomorreow hope the weather is fine as this will make it much more enjoyable .
