Mantis Aftermath!!!

Been to see the specialist pattern maker and all is good,We will be getting some limb's made to test in around four week's time.They will be as strong as steel and lighter too than the aerospace alloy prototypes limb's using a special grade alloy that will be heat treated ' wow i dont think they will be breaking that easy,lol .Dryfires will be no problem,lol.And thing's will start moving a lot quicker too as it takes a while in the beginning but it's all coming into place now soon be out there with your's ,BOSS MAN.And more good new's as we can lose a lot of weight off of many part's should weigh in at around 7.5 to 8 lbs max.This will be great for all user's especially hunter's.Be back here as soon as i get more happening,We got the best man possible for the Mantis,It's very exciting times and i am ready to make it all happen .

Hello there BOSS MAN and all other crossbow shooter's.I have at last got thing's really starting to happen here.THE TALISMAN SITE seem's to be down for some reason,anyway i have been designing the graphic's for the MANTIS BOW and please feel free to check out WWW.HYDRO-GRAPHICS.CO.UK for some wicked realtree camo finnish'es.I wasted some time with a total waster getting pattern's for the limb's made to test and they turned out a complete let down and could not even fit them to the crossbow.I waited about a month for these.Now i have a guy that really can make them just right.Wish i knew him before,lol.At least i can now get it all done correctly now as that was money well wasted and a lot of driving and fuel too.Now i have a guy 2 minutes away and it will be much much better all round.

When the site is back up i will tell all to look at HUNTER'S EDGE for progress and to keep up to date if we get any future problem's.That's if BOSS MAN give's this the go ahead.Anyway good luck to all and soon we will be there,Phil.

Well they started on the new limb pattern's today,i have been trying to get onto the talisman.com site but cannot for some reason,hi Donny and everyone just thought i would let you all know,speak to you all soon,Phil.

Hi Boss Man and all.My computer's been down for around two month's and only just managed to get it sorted.I do not know what's happened to the Talisman.com site but do not worry as i have been getting limb's made for testing out and i am now making slight alteration's to the pattern's to get them just perfect and it take's a long time to do all the testing and the work.Managed to break one limb by taking it a little to far by lightening to the extreme but boy did it go,it motored like a bullet gun,crazy.Anyway i have nearly completed the final adjustment's on the pattern's and will be getting several set's cast up this week to see if i got them dead right.When these are perfect the rest it all straight forward so we will soon all be done,keep you all informed,Phil.

Everything is happening here now as all the rest is being made from the drawing's as now i got everything just perfect.So just to let Boss Man and everyone know and i will be flying out to meet up with Boss Man and G Plant with the crossbow's and also with one for Ivan for all his time and effort with helping to get the Mantis crossbow worldwide recognition so i need Ivan's full postal address,if anyone know's this i will be very grateful.I just got back from vacation and thing's are nearly all done to go so spread the word as this is 100 percent correct,speak on here soon with updates,thank's all,Phil.

Phil, Im Sorry I missed your call, I also had my computer smoke on me and Im now just getting things going again. Last thing I needed was to buy a new computer!!! Anyways Im back in action Things sound Great Phil. Im so Happy for you to finally get to see your Dream coming to together. Im looking so forward to your visit!!! After all these years we get to meet finally!!! Sure would be Great if you could be here during the hunting season (Oct 1st-Jan 1st) also early season for antlerless deer last 2 weeks in Sept. 2 Bucks down again these year (Bow) No Monsters but a nice 7pt that was a 8 but had a broken tine. Donnie got a real nice 9pt with his Muzzleloader CONGRATS Donnie!!! So this will be our hang out until we get a new site started. Talked to Donnie about getting one going and with his skills this should be Great. We need to pick a day to meet here on chat and discuss how you would like it Phil.
If Donnie could do half as good with a New Talisman site as he did with this one it will be Awesome. The way he has this site setup with chat and the layout I would say its one of the best I've seen!!! Let me know when we can get together here and I'll talk to ya all soon.
MERRY CHRISTMAS MY FRIENDS!!!!

So good to hear from you G Plant and i hope you got the Christmas card i sent you on time,i wanted to send Donny one too but could not get hold of him in time to send it off.Hope everyone is enjoying the Christmas and yes i had a very cold snowy one here and went out hunting in the snow and it was awesome so beautiful just like little Canada and we seen a deer but it was way out too far.I so wanted a small deer for Christmas but it's very hard over here.Anyway the MANTIS is all done now to perfection and the engineer's/craftsmen are getting on with the pattern's and i have also been getting on with the graphic side of thing's for this new and coming crossbow and i have named the new limb system THE CROSSFORCE limb system and i had to do a fair bit of reworking and endless testing to get them just right and now it's all there finally.The front of the crossbow stock will have a raised eliptical shape on both sides with the word MANTIS inlaid into it in a hand written script style and there will also be an ENERGY WAVE technology badge on the shoulder piece and also a CROSSFORCE badge at the front end man that crossforce sound's too cool for word's i think.While all the pattern's are being made i will now finish off the prototype in black and install all the badges and show everyone exactly what the real finished pre prototype bows will look like.Anyway it was perfect being silver in the snow and i took some awesome shot's and i will get them on to here within the next couple of day's.We even went out on a night hunt in the wood's in the snow and it was very cold but we did try to get ourselve's a deer and anyway i say if they allow halal slaughter in my country then i will go hunting with crossbows as this is much more humane than that barbaric stuff that our puppet politician's allow in our countrie's just so they can keep their snout's firmly in the gravytrain trough,lol aint they the devil's spawn,anyway let's forget about that as we are better than that and we are doing positive good thing's with our time on this earth and it will all come back and bite them in their asses just like a giant squid's beak biting through whale bone,lol.Hey i have been down loading some bad ass deep house music from YOU TUBE check out DEEP HOUSE- DEEP IN NYC man that is the coolest piece of house music to me and i would love it as a sound track to the Mantis when we do some video shoot's of it in action over with you guy's.THIS COMING YEAR IS OUR'S.The music that u can find out there is awesome go find it and feel the vibe,speak to you all very soon and A GOOD NEW YEAR TO ALL from me Phil And family &TALISMAN CROSSBOWS,Peace.

Also sorry to hear about Robin Allen passing away and there is no doubt that he was dedicated to making absolutely fabulous crossbows i so wanted to meet up with him and share our love of these awesome weapon's and now i feel deeply sorry for his family and friend's that he is not with us here no more but i know he is in heaven blowing their mind's with his gorgeous crossbow's just like he did on earth.I will now have to wait until it is my time to pass before i can speak with him about crossbows.Anyway Greg good that you are back online and that you have been out hunting for deer and i cannot wait to come to America and really do some proper crossbow hunting as it is pretty much a waste of time over here,all everyone seem's to care about is what celebritie's are doing next and how ever did we manage without mobile phone's and tv ,you know the usual stuff like what we are all suppose to be doing all just like clones of one another,lol x factor aint that stuff soul destroying what the hell.We need to go backward in order to go forward but a lot of people out there do not seem to realise this and they think that all this is for their benefit when in fact it is the complete opposite,let's all start taking up real life activitie's again and i say that if enough people in my country all stick together then we really can have pretty much what we want like hunting with bows and other stuff too but unfortunately no one out there seem's bothered except what might happen on the tv bloody sad lot,he he.What can you do when most people are like this ? answer just go and do it for yourself is the answer i come up with or you can live your life just like all the clones and drones and i could never be like them as i would rather walk in front of a fast train,he he.Hey maybe I ROBOT is really for real here now,so wish everything was so different I WISH,be good,Phil.

I LOOOOVE that music and we party here to it all the time man we get our groove right on.And yes i want to go check out NEW YORK CITY and buy some vynal gem's .Anyway on the crossbow scene i have managed to get everything just perfect on the Mantis bow as there were a few minor detail's that did take many hour's of endless thought in order to get it finally all there.The front forestock and all the running gear pattern's are being made right now and i have just completed the absolute final drawing's for the trigger machanism and shoulder stock and it is going to be simply a DREAM MACHINE when done as i really have give it everything i have and to say i am very happy is an understatement,now all i can do here is carry on with other work while it's been all sorted out so now i can relax a while.I have even designed the shoulder stock to incorporate a winch system that stay's in place and doe's not get in the way and even a unique part on the trigger housing to store the truck when the crossbow is cocked and ready for action and also a click sprung detent ball system on the elevating scope rail and with this rail it is possible to shoot target's out to 500 yrd's,yes 500 yrd's,man i am ecstatic with this weapon,i will be back on here with all progress,peace to all,Phil.

All sounds GREAT Phil!!!! The Mantis is going to be AWESOME!! I cant wait to play with it and show it off!! Im very good friends with the owner of a World Class Archery Shop and shooting range and will be taking the Mantis there for all to see and try out. That should be cool!!! Cant wait to see the look on peoples faces when they see and shoot it!!!! They will be A lot of help to us when we get things going. I plan on going to shows with them and have the Mantis as a show piece for all to see and info on how they can get this Kick Ass weapon in their hands Its going to be all the talk in the Archery IND I'll bet on that!!!! Cant wait Buddy!!!! Its going to be fun!!! We could do some spring Turkey hunting if you like if everything is ready. I was also thinking when the bow is done I would like to come up with a reel mount for Bow Fishing. I dont know any other X-Bow that can be set up for this and would like to Talisman to be the 1st to do it I know just what reel setup to use just need to see how to make it work best for the Mantis. Another 1st for Talisman

AT LAST,PHEW.HEY GUY'S ALL THE RUNNING GEAR PATTERN'S ARE DONE.These part's consist of the finely tuned limb's plus pushrod's /con rod's and the compression bar.Now all we need is the completion of the front housing/forestock and the shoulder stock with trigger mechanism and ancilliarie's and WE ARE THERE.I did not bother to get back on here until we had some progress as the pattern maker's were snowed right under with work and i simply had to be patient until it was my turn and now it is,so look's like this coming hunting season will see some MANTIS ACTION at long last,also i had to get a new computer as it took age's to do anything before so now i better sign up to FACEBOOK in the next day or two speak to you all real soon,peace.G.Plant i sent you a message and thank's for all your's and Donny's patience i said i will get it there and really meant every word i said so let's do the facebook thing and spread the good new's,Phil.

Got back on here again at last,anyway i will email you the password and user name Greg and thank's again good buddy for being so patient.Well i have been doing some playing around with the prototype Mantis and have fitted a Horton easy crank winching system to her and also modified the truck so that i can use it with the bullet rail enabling very high powered crossbow bullet shooting.What i have done is exactly what will be done on the fully finished Mantis and that is to fit a bracket real close to the auto safety lever at the rear of the trigger unit and bolt the winch to it.Now if you are planning on just shooting bolt's/arrow's then the Horton truck is fine as it is but what i did was to cut off the centre piece leaving the two hook's then drilled them both to 3mm dia and as deep as possible without breaking right through and in one a piece of music wire was securely bonded into the slightly undersized hole then the other hook was drilled for a nice fit enabling the two hook's to be push fitted together and easily pulled apart for use with the rail and really all the wire doe's is keep them both spaced apart as without it as the string is wound back the hook's get pushed in toward's each other and doe's not work i spaced them exactly the same as the original truck as this was perfect.Also the Horton unit is a very nice piece of kit and it would be good if we could arrange something with Horton crossbows to supply us with their unit and maybe a specially designed truck similar to the one i modified if required by bullet shooter's.Also the main body part's of the Mantis are being made as of now so we are well on our way and this weekend i want to go out camping with the prototype with the newly fitted winch and check it out in the field it look's incredibly dangerouse with this fitted and to say it look's bad ass and awesome simply do not do it justice,lol this thing just keep's on getting better as i am continuously thinking of way's to make it even more refined.Don't worry we got her there now i am just talking custom part's here for your own personalizes bow's.Hey i will take some shot's and send them to Boss man to go onto here while the pattern's are being finnished leave it with me,peace to you all,Phil.

OH yes a fixed spool fishing reel something like a Browning or indeed any high quality brand like Shimano etc would be a nice addition and yes we will work on this,Phil.

Well just been to my good friend steve's farm and we put her through some paces shooting steel tipped 450 grn bullet's right through a 40 gallon oil drum at 100 yrd's and everyone there like steve's son's and their friend's were wowed and speechless with the impressive accuracy and hitting power and with that winch on board it's simply a dream to cock and it look's insanely dangerouse he he,love it lot's,lol it makes lethal look like harmless is all i can say if you are getting where i am coming from.Anyway i will call you Greg as i cannot seem to get it to email you so right now i am on it,Phil.

All the pattern's are now being worked upon to final completion and so now we are there almost,should all be finnished within two month's time and ready to get all part's hand casted ready for test assembly.Meanwhile i have been testing out some crossman BBs in the crossbow and they come out fast enough to embed into wood as long as not too many are loaded into carrier cartridge 20 BBs in each cartridge give's a good result and with a nice pattern of around a one foot spread at 5 yrd's,great for small moving game,pidgeon's,rodent's,etc and when you cosider that each BB only weigh's in at 5 grn that mean's we are hitting some pretty seriouse speed's,maybe using lead ball's will be more efficient for a harder strike force we will try this too and yes we can improve speed even more so by lightening the limb's even more if we need to by hollow grinding each limb surface this may well add at least another 50 + fps,if we need more speed all we do is hollow ground the pattern's and enlarge the hole's too.The next test will be carried out using larger shot,steel ball bearing's at 6 mm.THE MANTIS IS COMING REAL SOON,NO FEAR AS SURE AS EGG'S,Phil.

PART'S BEING MANUFACTURED AS OF NOW.Yes i have also sent the running gear pattern's off to the foundry to get four set's done ready for the pre production bow's,also the gas spring's are here now awaiting fitting on completion of the rest of this crossbow.The only part's that need severe testing are the limb's as these are extremely tough cookie's to crack perfectly but we are around 90 percent done on these,i just want to make absolutely sure we get them dead right.Also these limb's will be x rayed as will every limb on every crossbow will be x rayed to ensure that there are no fault's as we only want absolute safety and 100 percent confidence when in use.This i cannot stress enough as this can make or break all the hard work and all the devoted time and energy and patience and also money that has been required to get this awesome bit of kit together so i am not leaving anything to chance as we all know this.IF IT CAN GO WRONG ,THEN IT WILL GO WRONG.Anyway i will get back on here before i go on holiday for a week this coming Monday.
